Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Engine management ECU

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Before adding or replacing any parts, ensure that the customer has not lost their confidential card(depending on equipment).

1. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Diagnostic tool.

2. Removing

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries(depending on equipment).

Remove :

• The supplies protection and management unit (depending on equipment)
• The air inlet resonator
• The air inlet duct

Unclip the electrical harness (at "a").

Unclip the electrical harness (at "b").

Disconnect the connectors(at "c").

Remove :

• Nut (2)
• The bolt (3)
• The supplies protection and management unit support (1)

Remove :

• The nuts (5)
• The engine management ECU (4)

3. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Refit :

• The engine management ECU (4)
• The nuts (5)
• The supplies protection and management unit support (1)
• The bolt (3)
• Nut (2)

Reconnect the connectors(at "c").

Clip the electrical harness (at "b", "a").

Refit :

• The supplies protection and management unit (depending on equipment)
• The air inlet duct
• The air inlet resonator

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries(depending on equipment).

4. Operations to be carried out after the replacement of an engine management ECU

CAUTION : When replacing the engine management ECU , carry out the "replacement of the engine management ECU" procedure ; Using the diagnostic tool.

CAUTION : Swapping an engine management ECU between two vehicles means that it will be impossible to start the vehicles.

5. Procedures for returning under warranty

Disconnecting the engine management ECU results in it being locked automatically.

CAUTION : If a part is returned under warranty, return the engine management ECU with the access code.
