Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Fuel pump-gauge assembly

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

3. Preliminary operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required before disconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Disconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure).

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Remove the rear seat cushion .

4. Removing

CAUTION : Unclip the plug (1) carefully.

Remove the plug (1) ; Keep to the unclipping sequence :

• (at "b")
• (at "c")
• (at "a")

Move aside the plug (1) with the electrical harness .

CAUTION : When uncoupling the fuel pipe (2), use a cloth to protect yourself from any splashes of fuel.

Uncouple the fuel pipe (2) (at "e").

Disconnect the connector (at "d").

CAUTION : When removing, use absorbant paper to protect the surround of the well of the fuel pump and gauge assembly (5) ; Immediately place a recovery tray under the fuel pump and gauge assembly (5).

Remove the ring nut (4) ;Using tools [1618 / CH-52293-1] and [1618-B / CH-52293-100].

Lift the fuel pump and gauge assembly (5).

CAUTION : When removing the fuel pump-gauge assembly (5), do not distort the float arm (6).

Remove :

• The fuel pump and gauge assembly (5)
• The fuel pump-gauge assembly (5), taking care not to damage or distort the float arm (6)
• The seal (3)

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Always replace the seal (3) : Do not damage the seal (3) or the float arm (6).

Fit the new seal (3).

N.B. : Bring the lug "g" and the notch "f" together.

Refit the fuel pump-gauge assembly (5) (To line up the lug "f", "g").

Refit and tighten the ring nut (4) until the marks are aligned (at "h", "j") ; Using tools [1618 / CH-52293-1] and [1618-B / CH-52293-100].

Remove the tools [1618 / CH-52293-1], [1618-B / CH-52293-100].

Connect the click-fit union (2) (at "e").

Reconnect the connector (at "d").

Refit the plug (1).

6. Additional operations

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Refit the rear seat cushion .

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Reconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure).

Prime the fuel circuit (Switch the ignition on and off 2 times).

Start the engine.

Check :

• That there are no leaks
• The operation of the fuel gauge

Switch off the engine.
