3. Removing

CAUTION : Apply the urea ECU removal procedure.

ESSENTIAL : Respect the safety and cleanliness recommendations that are specific to high pressure Diesel injection (HDi) engines .

ESSENTIAL : When carrying out any operation on the urea ECU, wear insulating and antistatic protective gloves ;Risk of damage to the urea ECU circuit board.

ESSENTIAL : When working on the additive circuit, wear protective gloves and goggles.

CAUTION : Wear the insulating and antistatic protective gloves for the duration of the urea ECU (1) removal operation.

CAUTION : When removing the urea ECU (1), do not turn the urea reservoir over.

Plug the urea ECU (1) opening ; Using the female closer provided in the packaging kit (at "a").

Remove the bolts (2).

Lift and turn over the urea ECU (1) ; Carefully.

CAUTION : Protect the area around the heated urea pipe (3) ; Using a cloth.

Uncouple the heated urea pipe (3) located at the base of the urea ECU housing (1).

Method for uncoupling the heated urea pipe (3) :

• Push the heated urea pipe (3) towards the urea reservoir
• Press on the heated urea pipe (3) clip (at "b")
• Uncouple the heated urea pipe (3)
• Plug the heated urea pipe (3) ;Using the male closer provided in the packaging kit (at "c")

N.B. : If there are any splashes, clean the area and the external parts of the heated urea pipe (3) to avoid possible contamination ; Using a cloth.

CAUTION : Protect the internal electronic components of the urea ECU (1) from any splashes.

Disconnect the connectors (at "d").

CAUTION : Check that the closer is present (at "a" and "c") ;The closers must be fully positioned in their housings.

Place the end of the heated urea pipe (3) behind the pressure accumulator (at "e") before packaging it in the antistatic plastic pack.

CAUTION : Position the urea ECU (1), with the cover facing down.

Pack the urea ECU (1) in the antistatic plastic pack provided in the packaging kit.

Prepare the packaging box provided in the packaging kit.

Place the urea ECU (1) in the box, with the cover facing down.

Remove the insulating and antistatic protective gloves.

Affix the label provided in the packaging kit and indicate the part number of the urea reservoir replaced (at "f").
