Peugeot 308: Technical note : Anti-pinch electric window (Front and/or rear )

1. Deactivation of the safety auto-reverse function

Procedure :

• Within 5 seconds after a detection of an obstacle, open the window in manual mode as far as it will go (1 notch), and maintain the pressure for a few seconds
• Within 2 seconds, close the window in manual mode

N.B. : The safety auto-reverse function is re-activated automatically when the window switch is released.

2. Initialisation of the electric windows

"A" = 4 mm.

"B" = 60 mm.

The initialisation tells the engine ECU the stops for opening and closing the windows, so that it can operate the anti-pinch function (safety auto-reverse).

This operation is to be performed in the following cases :

• Following disconnection of the ancillaries battery (Window opened )
• Replace the window mechanism
• Failure of the anti-pinch system

2.1. Initialisation without operation on the electric window mechanism (Disconnection of the ancillaries battery - Failure of the anti-pinch system - …)

Initialisation procedure (Vehicles with door pillars ) :

• Lower the window to the lower stop
• Fit the window lift at the top stop (In steps of 50 mm )
• Press the switch for 4 seconds
• Lower the window to the lower stop
• Press the switch for 4 seconds
• Close the window in automatic mode
• The anti-pinch system is initialised

Initialisation procedure (Vehicles without door pillars ) :

• Close the doors
• Lower the window to the lower stop
• Fit the window lift at the top stop (In steps of 50 mm )
• Press the switch for 4 seconds
• Lower the window to the lower stop
• Press the switch for 4 seconds
• Close the window in automatic mode
• The anti-pinch system is initialised

N.B. : To prevent the motor over-heating, the electronics keep a check on the duration of operation of the motor.

N.B. : Initialisation is required when programming the upper stop.

2.2. Initialisation with operation on the electric window mechanism (Replace the window mechanism - Replacement of a component - …)

Vehicle not affected.
