Peugeot 308: Adjustment : Front and rear angle radars (Dynamic adjustment )

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

CAUTION : Do not program the rear angle radars in rain, snow or fog.

CAUTION : Only program the rear angle radars on a road with obstacles at the sides.

CAUTION : If replacing the front or rear bumper, consult the painting procedure .

N.B. : 2 operators are necessary to carry out the following operations.

1. Tooling

Workshop equipment : A diagnostic tool.

2. Preliminary operations

2.1. Prior conditions for checking

The rear angle radars must not be damaged or deformed(at "a" and "b").

The rear bumper must not show any signs of impact, friction or deformation of any kind.

Remove any excessive accumulation of mud, snow or ice which could affect the ride height of the vehicle.

The tyres must be inflated correctly.

The front corner radars must not be damaged or deformed(at "c" and "d").

The front bumper must show no signs of impact, rubbing or deformation.

Remove any excessive accumulation of mud, snow or ice which could affect the ride height of the vehicle.

The tyres must be inflated correctly.

2.2. Conditions required before adjusting

CAUTION : Vehicle in running order (Vehicle empty ).

3. Driving conditions

2 people are required :

  • 1 person to drive
  • 1 person to validate the information on the diagnostic tool

Drive one way down a road with static obstacles at the sides (a parked vehicle, road signs etc.).

Acceleration must be gradual (Do not accelerate sharply ).

Keep a constant speed.

The vehicle speed must be higher than 10 km/h over a distance of approximately 100 metres.

4. Calibration

CAUTION : Observe the prior conditions for initialisation.

Connect the diagnostic equipment and follow the initialisation procedure.

Perform a road test at a constant speed higher than 10 km/h.

Follow the complete initialisation procedure ; Using the diagnostic tool.

5. Check of a vehicle equipped with the semi-autonomous driving aid function (DRIVE+)

ESSENTIAL : The adjustment of the rear angle radars must be carried out and validated before checking them.

N.B. : The checking zone must be free of any nearby objects or metal components (Object or component within 1 metre ).

N.B. : The check is required after any work has been carried out on the rear bumper.

Check that the "obstacle detection" and "collision risk alert in reverse gear" functions are activated (Advanced driving aid system (ADAS) menu on the multifunction screen ).

"A" =From 3 to 5 metres.

N.B. : 2 people are required to carry out this operation.

N.B. : The check is to be performed based on the operation carried out ( 1 or 2 sides ).

ESSENTIAL : The brake pedal must be kept depressed during the entire check (Risk of collision with the person outside the vehicle ).

Conditions for checking :

  • 1 person to drive
  • All vehicle openings are closed
  • Keep the brake pedal depressed during the check
  • Internal combustion engine running
  • Gear control lever in position ‎ "R"

View "B" :Positive result (Rear LH side ).

View "C" :Positive result (Rear RH side ).

Check the detection of the pedestrian as they move at a fast pace towards the vehicle (Display of a triangle on the multifunction screen on the side of the detection ).

N.B. : In the event of an anomaly, move the vehicle by 2 metres, then repeat the operation .A malfunction is detected after 5 negative checks.
