Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Heating unit

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Before carrying out any work on the air conditioning circuit, take the necessary precautions.

Key : Operation symbols .

1. Location

"A" : left-hand drive.

"B" : right-hand drive.

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Recovery/filtering/vacuum extraction/charging equipment.

3. Preliminary operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries ( depending on the equipment ).

Remove the air filter housing.

Uncouple the pipes from the heating unit .

Remove the engine rear acoustic shield .

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; (Using the air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station).

4. Removing

4.1. Engine compartment side

N.B. : (*) Uncouple the aircon ducts perpendicular to the air conditioning pressure relief valve without distorting them.

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the plugs [1701-HZ].

4.2. Passenger compartment side

Remove the dashboard .

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal.

CAUTION : Check that the pipes upstream and downstream of the air conditioning pressure relief valve are clean.

CAUTION : The clamp of the air conditioning ducts must be against its interface before tightening the nuts.

N.B. : Fit new O-ring seals lubricated with air conditioning compressor oil before refitting the air conditioning ducts.

6. Additional operations

Refit the engine rear acoustic shield.

Couple up the pipes of the heating unit .

Refit the air filter housing.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries ( depending on the equipment ).

7. Check

Fill and bleed the cooling circuit.

Check the sealing of the cooling circuit.

Carry out :

• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 15 minutes)
• A sealing test of the air conditioning circuit
• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 35 minutes)
• Filling of the air conditioning circuit

Check the operation of the air conditioning.
