Peugeot 308: Prohibited operations : Hdi direct injection system DENSO (Technical note )

1. Protection

CAUTION : Always plug the apertures straightaway after opening up the fuel circuit ; Using the specific plugs kit.

2. Cleaning

CAUTION : The use of a "high pressure" cleaner is prohibited.

CAUTION : Do not use compressed air.

3. Fuel supply circuit

Recommended fuel : Diesel.

CAUTION : Do not use fuel other than diesel (Risk of destruction of the injection system and of the engine ).

CAUTION : The addition of additives, such as fuel circuit cleaners/remetallisers, is forbidden . Only fuel additives approved by the manufacturer in accordance with standard " B71 5000 " are permitted.

4. Electrical circuit

Switching an injection ECU from one vehicle to another will make it impossible to start either vehicle.

CAUTION : Do not supply a diesel injector with 12 volts.

5. High pressure fuel pump

CAUTION : To avoid any risk of malfunction, check that the replacement parts are available before detaching the high pressure fuel pump.

Do not separate the following components from the high pressure fuel pump (depending on equipment) :

• The high pressure fuel outlet unions (Case of a screwed union )
• The fuel supply union (Case of a screwed union )
• The fuel temperature sensor
• The flow electrovalve

6. Fuel high pressure common injection rail

CAUTION : To avoid any risk of malfunction, check that the replacement parts are available before detaching the fuel high pressure common rail.

Do not separate the following components from the fuel high pressure common injection rail (depending on equipment) :

• The fuel pressure sensor
• The fuel pressure regulator

7. Diesel injector

CAUTION : Cleaning operations using diesel and ultrasound are prohibited.

CAUTION : Do not detach the diesel injector carrier, for which there is no replacement part, as there is a risk of malfunction.

Do not separate the following components from the diesel injector carrier (depending on equipment) :

• The electromagnetic component
• The diesel injector
• The fuel low pressure union (Case of a screwed union )

CAUTION : Do not turn the electromagnetic component nut.

N.B. : Calamine cleaning on the injector nose is prohibited.
