Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Rear bench seat

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness instructions .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Screwdriver.

	[1383-A]	Unclipping tool
(*) Use standard workshop equipment if the special tool is not available

3. Preliminary operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Slide the front seats as forward as possible.

4. Special feature

(1) Front floor carpet.

Assembly "A" : Front floor mat (1) ( With cut ).

Move aside section (1a) of the front floor carpet (1) to access the rear bench seat retaining clip (2).

Assembly "B" : Front floor mat (1) ( Without cutting ).

Drill the front floor carpet (1) in the area (at "a") to access the rear bench seat retaining clip (2).

5. Removing

5.1. Rear bench seat cushion (Monobloc)

N.B. : For assembly "B" : Drill the front floor carpet (1) to access the 3 rear bench seat retaining clips (2) ; Using a screwdriver.

Common operations.

N.B. : Front floor carpet version with cut-out : Insert the tool [1383-A] into the front floor carpet recess to access the rear bench seat (3) retaining clip (2).

N.B. : Front floor carpet version without cut-out : Insert the tool [1383-A] into the recess previously made in the front floor carpet to access the rear bench seat (3) retaining clip (2).

N.B. : Apply vertical force during the rear bench seat unclipping operation (3) (in the direction of the arrow "b").

Method of operation :

• Position the tool [1383-A] in the rear bench seat (3) retaining clip (2)
• Rotate the tool [1383-A] on the tab (2a) of the rear bench seat (3) retaining clip (2) (in the direction of the arrow "c")
• Move the rear bench seat (3) aside from its housing

N.B. : After unclipping : Insert a hammer between the rear bench seat and the rear floor.

Carry out the same operations for the 2 other rear bench seat (3) retaining clips (2).

5.2. Seat back of the rear bench seat (1/3 - 2/3)

Release the cable (4) (at "d").

Release the cable end (4a) from its mounting.

Unclip the cable (4) (at "e");Using the tool [1350-ZZ].

Remove the bolts (5) and (7).

Remove the rear seat crossmember (6).

Release the cable (9) (at "g").

Release the cable end (9a) from its mounting.

Unclip the cable (9) (at "f");Using the tool [1350-ZZ].

Remove the bolts (8) and (10).

Remove the rear seat crossmember (11).

Remove the seat back (12) of the rear bench seat (1/3 - 2/3).

6. Refitting

6.1. Seat back of the rear bench seat (1/3 - 2/3)

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal.

Check the operation of the various equipment.

6.2. Rear bench seat cushion (Monobloc)

Unclip the left-hand retaining clip (2) from the rear bench seat (3) (Rear part) (at "h" and "j") ; Using the tool [1383-A].

Unclip the left-hand retaining clip (2) from the rear bench seat (3) (Front part)(at "k" and "l") ; Using the tool [1383-A].

Carry out the same operations for the 2 other rear bench seat (3) retaining clips (2).

CAUTION : The notch in the retaining clip on the rear bench seat must be pointing towards the front of the vehicle.

N.B. : Check that the rear bench seat retaining clips (2) are secure in their supports .

Fit the 3 new retaining clips (2) to the rear bench seat .

7. Additional operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

8. Check

Check the operation of the various equipment.
