Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Body height sensors

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required before disconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Disconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

2. Removing

2.1. Front body height sensor

Remove :

  • The front right-hand wheel
  • The front right-hand mudguard
  • The under-engine protector

Disconnect the connector(at "a").

Disconnect the rod (at "c").

Remove :

  • The bolt (2)
  • The front body height sensor (1)(at "b")

2.2. Rear body height sensor

Disconnect the connector (at "e").

Disconnect the rod (at "d").

Remove :

  • The bolt (4)
  • The rear body height sensor (3)

3. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Tightening torque :

  • Front suspension
  • Rear suspension
  • Wheels

3.1. Front body height sensor

Refit :

  • The front body height sensor (1)(at "b")
  • The bolt (2)

Connect the connecting rod (at "c").

Reconnect the connector (at "a").

Refit :

  • The under-engine protector
  • The front right-hand mudguard
  • The front right-hand wheel

3.2. Rear body height sensor

Refit :

  • The rear body height sensor (3)
  • The bolt (4)

Connect the connecting rod (at "d").

Reconnect the connector (at "e").

4. Additional operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Reconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

Return the vehicle to its wheels.

5. Calibration : Front and rear body height sensor

CAUTION : This calibration procedure is carried out following the replacement of one of the control units, work on the suspension or modification of the setting height.

5.1. Preparing the front and rear body height sensors for calibration

Vehicle on a level surface.

Check the tyre pressures.

Front wheels straight ahead.

The vehicle should not be loaded, with no-one on board.

Release the handbrake..

Ignition on (Economy mode inactive ).

Dipped beam headlamps on.

5.2. Calibration of the front and rear body height sensors

Connect the diagnostic tool.

Carry out :

  • A headlamp calibration procedure ; Using a diagnostic tool (Follow the instructions displayed on the screen )
  • Reading and erasing of fault codes ; Using a diagnostic tool

Check - adjust the headlamps.

Check the operation of the various equipment.
