Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : ABS/ESP hydraulic block

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Tooling

Workshop equipment : A diagnostic tool.

2. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required before disconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Disconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

Drain the braking circuit .

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Remove :

• The under-engine protector
• The engine cover
• The scuttle panel
• The scuttle closing panel
• The air filter housing

3. Removing

CAUTION : Fit plugs at the turbocharging exchanger air inlets and outlets, at the turbocharger air inlets and outlets and at the inlet manifold air inlet.

Disconnect the connector(at "a").

Slacken the clips ( 2) and (4).

Remove :

• The bolts (1), (3)
• The air union (5)

Slacken the clip (7).

Remove the air union (6).

Unclip the clips(at "b").

Disconnect the connector(at "c").

Loosen the brake pipe ‎ unions [‎ (8) and ‎(9)].

N.B. : Prepare for the flow of brake fluid.

Remove the brake pipe ‎ unions [‎ (8) and ‎(9)].

Move the brake pipes ‎ slightly away from the hydraulic block ‎.

CAUTION : Plug the inlets and outlets of the hydraulic block to prevent any entry of foreign bodies.

Remove :

• The hydraulic block-bracket assembly ‎(12) bolts ‎ (10)
• The hydraulic block-bracket assembly ‎(12) nut ‎ (11)

Unclip the clip (at "d").

Move the hydraulic block-bracket assembly ‎ (12) a few centimetres(in the direction of the arrow ).

Remove :

• The bolt (14)
• The nuts (15)

Uncouple the hydraulic block (16) from its support (13).

4. Refitting

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the connection openings of the hydraulic block when the brake pipes are fitted.

Couple the hydraulic block ‎ (16) to its bracket ‎(13).

Refit :

• The bolt (14)
• The nuts (15)

Reposition the hydraulic block-bracket assembly ‎ (12).

Refit :

• The hydraulic block-bracket assembly ‎(12) bolts ‎ (10)
• The hydraulic block-bracket assembly ‎(12) nut ‎ (11)
• The brake pipe ‎ unions [‎ (8) and ‎(9)]
• The clip (at "d")

Reconnect the connector (at "c").

Close the clips (at "b").

Refit the air union (6).

Tighten the clip (7).

Refit :

• The air union (5)
• The bolts (1), (3)

Tighten the clips ( 2) and (4).

Reconnect the connector (at "a").

5. Additional operations

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Refit :

• The air filter housing
• The scuttle closing panel
• The scuttle panel
• The engine cover
• The under-engine protector

Fill and bleed the braking circuit .

Return the vehicle to its wheels.

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Reconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

6. Configuration of ECU

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

When replacing the hydraulic valve bock ; Using a diagnostic tool :

• Configure the ECU
• Calibrate the steering wheel angle sensor
• Calibrate the longitudinal acceleration sensor
• Read and clear the fault codes

CAUTION : Check the pressure of all the wheels before resetting the indirect tyre deflation detection system.

Adjust the pressure of the 4 tyres(if necessary).

Reinitialise the tyre under-inflation detection system ; Using the multifunction touch screen.
