Peugeot 308: Repair procedure : Ancillaries batteries

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required before disconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

1. Location

(1) Ancillaries battery 1.

(2) Ancillaries battery 2.

2. Specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries

2.1. Disconnecting the ancillaries batteries

CAUTION : All connection operations must be carried out with the ignition off and while the vehicle is dormant.

CAUTION : The ancillaries battery 1 must never be disconnected in isolation . It is essential that the ancillaries battery 2 must be disconnected for maintenance on the ancillaries battery 1.

Open the central armrest(at "a").

Remove the lining from the bottom of the storage compartment (at "b").

Unclip the ancillaries battery 2 flap cover (at "c").

Unlock the negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)(at "d").

Disconnect the negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2).

Disconnect the positive terminal (4) of the ancillaries battery 1 (1).

2.2. Reconnecting the ancillaries batteries

Reconnect(in sequence) :

• The positive terminal (4) of the ancillaries battery 1 (1)
• The negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)

Lock the negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)(at "d").

Clip the ancillaries battery 2 flap cover back on(at "c").

Refit the storage compartment base trim (at "b").

Close the central armrest (at "a").

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

3. Removing the ancillaries batteries

CAUTION : If one of the 2 ancillaries batteries needs to be replaced, fully disconnect the 2 ancillaries batteries.

Open the central armrest(at "a").

Remove the lining from the bottom of the storage compartment (at "b").

Unclip the ancillaries battery 2 flap cover (at "c").

Unlock the negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)(at "d").

Disconnect the negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2).

Disconnect the positive terminal (4) of the ancillaries battery 1 (1).

Unclip the electrical harness (at "e", "f").

Disconnect the connectors(at "h", "g").

Remove the 2 nuts (5).

Move aside the electrical harnesses(at "j").

Remove :

• Nut (7)
• The ancillaries battery switch (6) 1 (1) (In the direction of the arrow )

Move aside the ancillaries battery switch support (8) 1 (1)(at "l", "k").

Remove the ancillaries battery switch support (8) 1 (1).

Disconnect the negative terminal (9) of the ancillaries battery 1 (1).

Remove :

• The fixings (10)
• The bracket (11)
• The ancillaries battery 1 (1)
• The ancillaries battery tray 1 (1)

Disconnect the positive terminal (12) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2).

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Remove the centre console .

Remove the nuts (13).

Unclip the acid fumes evacuation pipe(at "m", "n").

Remove the support - ancillaries battery 2 assembly (2) and place it on a work bench.

Remove the bolt (15).

Release the ancillaries battery support (14) 2 (2) (In the direction of the arrow ).

Remove :

• The bolt (16)
• The negative terminal (17) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)

4. Removal of the ancillaries battery tray support

Remove the air inlet resonator bolt (20).

Disconnect the engine fuse and relay box (18)(at "p").

Move aside the engine fuse and relay box (18) (In the direction of the arrow ).

Unclip and uncouple the coolant bleed pipe (19)(at "q").

Disconnect the connectors (at "r").

Unclip :

• The electrical harness (at "s")
• The circuit breaker connector (21)(at "t")

Unclip :

• The connectors (at "u")
• The electrical harness (at "v")

Remove :

• The nuts (23)
• The protector (22)

Move aside the bracket (24).

Disconnect the connectors(at "w").

Remove :

• Nut (26)
• The hybrid drive train supervisor ECU (25)

Unclip the electrical harness (at "x", "z").

Unlock the fuse holder (28)(at "y").

Move aside the fuse holder (28) (In the direction of the arrow ).

Remove :

• The bolts (29)
• The support (27)

Unclip the electrical harness (at "aa").

Remove :

• The bolts (31)
• The nuts (32), (33)
• The ancillaries battery tray support (30) 1 (1)

5. Refitting of the ancillaries battery tray support

Refit :

• The ancillaries battery tray support (30) 1 (1)
• The nuts (32), (33)
• The bolts (31)

Clip the electrical harness (at "aa").

Refit :

• The ancillaries battery tray 1 (1)
• The support (27)
• The bolts (29)

Lock the fuse holder (28)(at "y").

Clip the electrical harness (at "x", "z").

Refit :

• The hybrid drive train supervisor ECU (25)
• Nut (26)

Reconnect the connectors(at "w").

Refit :

• The protector (22)
• The nuts (23)

Clip :

• The connectors (at "u")
• The electrical harness (at "v")
• The circuit breaker connector (21)(at "t")
• The electrical harness (at "s")

Reconnect the connectors (at "r").

Refit :

• The bolt (20)
• The engine fuse and relay box (18)(at "p")

Clip and couple the coolant bleed pipe (19)(at "q").

6. Refitting the ancillaries batteries

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

CAUTION : Reconnect the 2 ancillaries batteries.

CAUTION : Check the positioning of the fixing clamp (11).

Refit :

• The ancillaries battery 1 (1)
• The bracket (11)
• The fixings (10)
• The ancillaries battery support (14) 2 (2)
• The bolt (15)
• The negative terminal (17) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)
• The bolt (16)
• The ancillaries battery 2 (2)
• The nuts (13)

Clip the acid fumes evacuation pipe(at "m", "n").

PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Refit the centre console .

Reconnect :

• The positive terminal (12) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)
• The negative terminal (9) of the ancillaries battery 1 (1)

Refit :

• The ancillaries battery switch support (8) 1 (1)(at "l", "k")
• The ancillaries battery switch (6) 1 (1)
• Nut (7)
• The electrical harnesses(at "j")
• The 2 nuts (5)

Reconnect the connectors(at "h", "g").

Clip the electrical harness (13)(at "e", "f").

Reconnect :

• The positive terminal (4) of the ancillaries battery 1 (1)
• The negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)

Lock the negative terminal (3) of the ancillaries battery 2 (2)(at "d").

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Clip the ancillaries battery 2 flap cover back on(at "c").

Refit the storage compartment base trim (at "b").

Close the central armrest (at "a").
