Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Ancillaries battery and its support

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Preliminary operations

Switch off the ignition.

ESSENTIAL : After switching off the ignition, wait 6 minutes before disconnecting the ancillaries battery (Allowing the ECUs to go to sleep ).

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries.

Remove :

  • The air inlet resonator
  • The air inlet pipe
  • The supplies protection and management unit
  • The engine management ECU

2. Removing

2.1. Ancillaries battery

Disconnect the connector (at "a").

Unclip the electrical harness (at "b").

Remove :

  • Nut (1)
  • The engine management ECU support (2)

Unfasten the earth cable (3)(at "c").

Remove :

  • The bolt (6)
  • The nut (5)
  • The plate (4)

Remove :

  • The bolts (9)
  • The support (8)

Move aside the ancillaries battery (10)(towards the front of the vehicle).

Disconnect the negative terminal of the ancillaries battery (7).

Remove the ancillaries battery (10).

2.2. Ancillaries battery support

Remove :

  • The bolts (12)
  • The bolt (13)

Unclip the support (11) and direct voltage transformer assembly (at "d") (In the direction of the arrow ).

Separate the support and direct voltage transformer assembly (11) without opening the cooling circuit of the direct voltage transformer.

Unclip the electrical harness (at "e").

Remove the ancillaries battery tray (14).

Remove :

  • The bolts (16)
  • The nuts (17)
  • The ancillaries battery tray support (15)

3. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Refit :

  • The ancillaries battery tray support (15)
  • The nuts (17)
  • The 3 bolts (16)

Clip the electrical harness (at "e").

Refit :

  • The support (11) and direct voltage transformer assembly (at "d")
  • The bolts (12), (13)

Refit :

  • The ancillaries battery tray (14)
  • The ancillaries battery (10)
  • The bolt (8)
  • The support (8)
  • The bolts (9)

Reconnect the negative terminal of the ancillaries battery (7).

Refit :

  • The plate (4)
  • The nut (5)
  • The bolt (6)

Clip the earth cable (3)(at "c").

Refit :

  • The engine management ECU support (2)
  • Nut (1)

Clip the electrical harness (at "b").

Reconnect the connector (at "a").

4. Additional operations

Refit :

  • The engine management ECU
  • The supplies protection and management unit
  • The air inlet pipe
  • The air inlet resonator

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries.
