Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Vacuum pump

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Parts which must always be replaced

2. Preliminary operation

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries(depending on equipment).

3. Removing

Remove the engine cover .

Uncouple :

• The fuel vapours recirculation pipe (at "a")
• The fuel vapours recirculation pipe (at "b")(depending on equipment)
• The oil vapour heater(at "c")

Remove :

• The bolt (2)
• The union (1) of the turbocharger air inlet

Remove the air inlet duct .

Uncouple the click-fit union (3)(at "f").

Cut the tie wrap(at "e").

Unclip the electrical harness (at "d").

Remove :

• The 3 bolts (5)
• The vacuum pump (4)

4. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

CAUTION : Check whether filter is present(at "g") ; Risk of damage to the vacuum pump .

Clean the joint faces.

Refit :

• The new seal (6)
• The vacuum pump (4)
• The 3 bolts (5)

Clip the electrical harness (at "d").

Connect the click-fit union (3)(at "f").

Refit a new tie-wrap (at "e").

Refit the air inlet duct .

Refit :

• The union (1) of the turbocharger air inlet
• The bolt (2)

Couple up :

• The fuel vapours recirculation pipe (at "a")
• The fuel vapours recirculation pipe (at "b")(depending on equipment)
• The oil vapour heater(at "c")

Refit the engine cover .

5. Additional operation

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required following a reconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries(depending on equipment).
