Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Cooling fan

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries(depending on equipment).

Remove :

• The front wheels
• The front mud guards
• The under-engine protector
• The resonator
• The front bumper
• The headlamps

2. Removing

Remove :

• The bolts (1), (2)
• The upper trim (3)

Unclip :

• The cooling fan control relay unit ( 4)(at "b")
• The electrical harness (at "c")

Disconnect the connector(at "a").

Move aside the cooling fan relay control unit ( 4).

Disconnect the connector of the cooling fan(at "d").

Unclip the degas pipe (at "e").

Remove :

• The nuts (5)
• The bolts (7)

Move aside the upper crossmember ( 6).

Unclip the degas pipe (8)(at "f" and "g").

Unclip the pipe (at "h").

Remove :

• The bolts (9) and (11)
• The fan assembly (10) (Upwards )

3. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Tightening torques :

• Hybrid drive train cooling circuit
• Wheels

Refit :

• The fan assembly (10)
• The bolts (9), (11)

Clip the pipe (at "h").

Reclip the degas pipe (8)(at "f" and "g").

Refit :

• The upper crossmember (6)
• The nuts (5)
• The bolts (7)

Reclip the degas pipe (at "e").

Reposition the cooling fan relay control unit ( 4).

Clip :

• The electrical harness (at "c")
• The cooling fan control relay unit ( 4)(at "b")

Reconnect :

• The fan connector (at "d")
• The connector (at "a")

Refit :

• The upper trim (3)
• The bolts (1), (2)

4. Additional operations

Refit :

• The headlamps
• The front bumper
• The resonator
• The under-engine protector
• The front mud guards
• The front wheels
• The vehicle to its wheels

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries(depending on equipment).
