Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Turbocharger cooling electric coolant pump

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Diagnostic tool.

2. Location

(1) Turbocharger cooling electric coolant pump.

3. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Remove the under-engine protector .

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Drain the hybrid drive train cooling circuit .

Remove :

• The style cover
• The air inlet neck
• The air inlet resonator
• The catalytic converter

4. Removing

Uncouple the breather pipe (3) (at "b").

CAUTION : Plug the openings using the tool [0194-T].

Unclip the clips (at "a").

Disconnect the pipes (2).

Disconnect the connector  (at "c").

CAUTION : Plug the openings using the tool [0194-T].

Disconnect the pipes (4).

Remove the bolts (5).

Move the turbocharger cooling electric coolant pump (1) aside (With its mounting) (Lower it a by a few centimetres only).

Unclip and move aside the electrical harness  (at "d").

Remove the turbocharger cooling electric coolant pump (1) (With its mounting).

N.B. : Operations to be carried out on the bench.

Remove :

• The bolts (7)
• The turbocharger cooling electric coolant pump (1)
• The support (6)

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Tightening torques :

• Engine
• Exhaust line

Assemble :

• The turbocharger cooling electric coolant pump (1) (With its mounting (6) )
• The bolts (7)

Refit :

• The turbocharger cooling electric coolant pump (1) (With its mounting (6))
• The bolts (5)

Reclip the electrical harness  (at "d").

Remove the tools [0194-T].

Connect the pipes ‎(4).

Reconnect the connector  (at "c").

CAUTION : Plug the openings using the tool [0194-T].

Connect the pipes ‎(2).

Reclip the clips  (at "a").

Couple up the breather pipe (3) (at "b").

6. Additional operations

Refit :

• The catalytic converter
• The air inlet resonator
• The air inlet neck

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Fill and bleed the hybrid drive train cooling circuit .

Refit :

• The under-engine protector
• The style cover
• The vehicle to its wheels
