This bulletin presents all the technical information required by authorised repairers and new vehicle and replacement parts distributors for the launch of the DV5R engine that is compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard for private vehicles.
The bulletin does not affect engines in the DV5R family that comply with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard and that will be offered with commercial vehicles in 2018 (K0 and X2-50).
This bulletin must be presented and distributed in each dealership of the network by each department manager :
Main information and key points in the bulletin : To be noted in particular.
CAUTION : DV5R engines that comply with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard are the only Euro 6.2 diesel engines that function without a particle filter additive (FAP).
With the Euro emission control standard, the stages related to urea come from the servicing schedule and the urea solution becomes a consumable in the same way as fuel. Customers are responsible for topping up their urea reservoirs, the size of which covers at least 4 fill-ups.
The fuel filter of the DV5R engine, compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard, is located under the vehicle next to the fuel tank.
CAUTION : Prerequisite : Refer to the "Commercial launch of engines compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard" bulletin.
N.B. : Consult the specifications of the vehicle on the manufacturer’s after sales documentation portal.
1. Presentation
1.1. Product
The DV5R engine family, compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard, is a modification of the DV6 range, and has been designed to meet the new Euro 6.2 emission control standard (official designations: Euro 6C and Euro 6D-temp) which come into force from November 2017.
The engine has been made more compact and the capacity has been reduced from 1,6 to 1,5 litres.
These engines benefit from architecture and technology chosen with the aim of limiting fuel and carbon dioxide (CO2) consumption, while still delivering a superior performance.
1.2. Identification of engines compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard

2. Training for the aftersales activity
Refer to the "Commercial launch of engines compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard" bulletin.
3. Aftersales documentation
The aftersales documentation can be found on the manufacturer’s aftersales documentation portal.
The VIN is required to gain access.
The aftersales technical documentation comprises :
4. Differences compared to the DV6F engine, compliant with the EURO 6.1 emission control standard
4.1. Exhaust gas emission control
DV5 emission control line architecture, compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard for private vehicles (VP).
(A) Urea solution injection.
(1) DeNOx absorber.
(2) Temperature sensor.
(3) DeNOx catalytic converter.
(4) Particle filter differential pressure sensor.
(5a) Upstream NOx sensor.
(5b) Downstream NOx sensor.
(7) Particulate emission filter (pef).
(8) Urea injector.
The BLUE HDi exhaust line, compliant with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard, consists of :
On the DV5R engine, the BLUE HDi compact exhaust line is integrated close to the engine.
2 NOx sensors present, one at each end of the exhaust line ; Addition of an NOx sensor upstream of the deNOx absorber in order to meet the Euro 6.2 emission control standard.

5. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)
(9) DV5R engine.
(9a) EGR valve.
The exhaust gas recirculation components (EGR) have been modified to comply with the Euro 6.2 emission control standard :
5.1. Cylinder head
(10) Engine top .
(10a) Camshafts and 16 valves.
Modification of the DV6F cylinder head in relation to the Euro 6.1 emission control standard :
5.2. Fuel supply
Bosch diesel injection system :
Relocation of the fuel filter under the body next to the fuel tank (crash test requirement).
Addition of a fuel pressure pulse damper (noise reduction) on the engine, installed between the air mixer and the air filter.
