1. Cylinder block assembly

Machined face with engine marking (at "a").

2.1. References on crankshaft

The diameter values for the main journals and crank pins are referenced on the crankshaft (at "e", "f") (Flywheel side).

"f" Record of the value of the crank pins (Machined surface) - Alphabetical characters.

N.B. : Direction of reading from the flywheel towards the timing.

Calculation of the diameter of the main journal "C" :

  • ØG = (ØG1 + ØG2 + ØG3) / 3
  • ØH = (ØH1 + ØH2 + ØH3) / 3
  • ØJ = (ØJ1 + ØJ2 + ØJ3) / 3

Diameter of the main journal "C" : ØC = (ØG + ØH + ØJ) / 3.

N.B. : The method for measuring the diameter "D" of the crank pins is identical.

3. Crankshaft bearing shells

CAUTION : Do not invert the crankshaft shells and big end shells of the EB2L engines (The diameter of the bearings is identical, but the thickness and part number of the shells are different).

CAUTION : The crankshaft shells have only one colour marking (at "j").

CAUTION : Only the crankshaft lower half-shells (5) are classed.

The upper half-shells (4) are different :

  • Bearings number 1 and 4 : Partially grooved half-shells (at "g")
  • Bearings number 2 and 3 : Fully grooved half-shells (at "h")

The lower half-shells are identical, smooth, and are available in 4 thicknesses.

4. Crankshaft lateral shims

The lateral play of the crankshaft is assured by 2 identical shims (6) on the cylinder block.

The shims are mounted on bearing n°2.

5. Conrods

CAUTION : Only the big end lower half-shells (9) are classed.
