Peugeot 308: Unlocking : "shift-lock" function or Park position

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

N.B. : Shift-lock is a system that locks the sequential gear lever in "P".

1. Releasing the "shift-lock"(normal operation)

Switch on the ignition.

Press the brake pedal and keep it pressed.

Move the sequential gear lever to come out of "P".

2. Releasing the "shift-lock" (After-sales mode )

Start the engine.

Depress the brake pedal.

Put the sequential gear lever in the "N" position.

CAUTION : Carry out the following actions within 5 seconds.

Switch off the ignition while simultaneously depressing the brake pedal.

Move the sequential gear lever forwards or backwards.

Release the brake pedal.

Switch on the ignition.

Depress the brake pedal.

Disable the electric parking brake control.

Switch off the ignition.

N.B. : The shift-lock release is confirmed by the sequential gear lever indicator lamp "N" lighting up and the flashing of indicator lamp "P".

CAUTION : After releasing the "shift-lock" in after-sales, do not open the doors and windows during other operations : Risk of cancelling the "shift lock" release procedure.

3. Releasing the "shift-lock"(with an operating anomaly) : Automatic gearbox with electric gear shift control

Impossible to release the "shift-lock" following the usual procedure.

Probable causes of the anomaly :

• Of the ancillaries battery voltage
• The "shift-lock"
• The sequential gear lever
• Of the automatic gearbox ECU
• Of the electrical harness

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

Disconnect the ancillaries battery.

Remove :

• The air filter housing(if necessary)
• The air inlet resonator(if necessary)

"P" : Parking position.

"N" : Neutral position (Neutral ).

Remove the automatic gearbox ECU, taking care not to damage the connector pins.

Turn clockwise and push the gearbox selector lever shaft (1) ; Using a 6 mm open-ended spanner.

Tightening torques : Electrical equipment (Under-bonnet)Stripping-assembling : Components internal to the gearbox ("MB6" type)
