Peugeot 308: Modification : heating/ventilation (New fluid 1234YF )

1. Diversity of the air conditioning circuits

The appearance of the new 1234YF fluid results in a diversity of the air conditioning circuits, which may coexist on the same model of vehicle.

N.B. : The R134a and 1234YF fluids cannot be mixed and are not interchangeable.

CAUTION : The circuits containing R134a fluid and the circuits containing 1234YF fluid are different: before carrying out any work, identify the type of air conditioning circuit.

2. Identification of the air conditioning circuits

"A" : Air conditioning circuit containing 1234YF fluid.

"B" : Air conditioning circuit containing R134a fluid.

The only visible difference is the colour of the protective caps of the click-fit unions on the air conditioning circuit(at "a") :

• The caps are grey for vehicles equipped with 1234YF fluid
• The caps are black for vehicles equipped with R134a fluid

"C" : Air conditioning circuit containing 1234YF fluid.

"D" : Air conditioning circuit containing R134a fluid.

N.B. : Presence of a mark 1234YF to identify the protective caps of the click-fit unions of the circuits containing the new 1234YF fluid.

In addition, to prevent any exchange or inversion, the click-fit unions and the caps are of different diameters on the 2 air conditioning circuits (The click-fit unions of the circuits containing 1234YF fluid are noticeably larger than the click-fit unions of the circuits containing R134a fluid ).
