Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Air conditioning compressor

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

3. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries.

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

Remove :

• The under-engine protector (depending on equipment)
• The front right-hand wheel
• The front right-hand mudguard
• The ancillary drive belt

4. Removing

Unclip the clip (at "a").

Slacken the clip (1).

Replace the union (2) of the air/air heat exchanger .

Disconnect the connectors(at "b", "d").

Unclip the electrical harness (at "c").

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tool [1701-HZ].

Remove the 2 nuts (4).

Uncouple the air conditioning pipes (3), (5) perpendicular to the air conditioning compressor.

Remove :

• The 4 air conditioning compressor (6) fixing bolts (7)
• The air conditioning compressor (6)

CAUTION : Drain the air conditioning compressor (6) ; Measure the quantity of oil recovered.

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Never refit an air conditioning compressor that has suffered an impact.

CAUTION : Check that the pipes upstream and downstream of the air conditioning pressure relief valve are clean.

CAUTION : Put in place new O-ring seal ; Oil the seals with air conditioning compressor oil.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Tightening torques :

• Components of the air conditioning circuit
• Engine
• Wheels

CAUTION : Drain the new air conditioning compressor (6) ; Put in the quantity of oil noted on removal.

Refit :

• The new O-rings
• The new air conditioning compressor (6)
• The 4 air conditioning compressor (6) fixing bolts (7)

Couple the air conditioning ducts (3), (5) perpendicular to the air conditioning condenser .

CAUTION : The clamp of the air conditioning ducts must be against its interface before tightening the nuts.

Refit the 2 nuts (4).

Reconnect the connectors (at "b", "d")(depending on equipment).

Clip the electrical harness (at "c").

Refit the union (2) of the air/air heat exchanger .

Clip in the clip (at "a").

Tighten the clip (1).

Carry out a vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 15 minutes minimum).

Check the sealing of the air conditioning circuit.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Carry out :

• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 35 minutes minimum)
• Filling of the air conditioning circuit

6. Additional operations

Refit :

• The ancillary drive belt
• The front right-hand mudguard
• The front right-hand wheel
• The under-engine protector (depending on equipment)

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries.

Return the vehicle to its wheels.

CAUTION : When the air conditioning compressor (6) starts up for the first time, do not exceed 1500 rpm during the first minute in order to distribute the oil in the air conditioning circuit.

Check the operation of the air conditioning compressor (6).
