Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Air conditioning condenser

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

ESSENTIAL : Follow the recommended precautions before carrying out any work on the air conditioning circuit.

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Filling and recycling station .

3. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the filling and recycling station.

Remove :

• The front wheels
• The front mud guards
• The under-engine protector
• The resonator
• The front bumper
• The headlamps
• The front bumper upper frame
• The air deflectors
• The controlled air inlet module

4. Removing

CAUTION : Do not open the hybrid drive train cooling circuit.

Unclip the hybrid drive train cooling circuit pipe ‎(1)(at "a").

Remove :

• The bolt (6)
• The nuts (2), (4)

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

Uncouple the air conditioning ducts (5), (7) perpendicular to the condenser (3).

Remove the bolt (8).

Release the air conditioning condenser (3)(at "b").

Remove :

• The air conditioning condenser (3)
• The O-ring seals of the cooling ducts (5), (7)

5. Refitting

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Tightening torques :

• Components of the air conditioning circuit
• Wheels

Refit :

• The O-ring seals of the cooling ducts (5), (7)(new)
• The air conditioning condenser (3)
• The bolt (8)

CAUTION : When refitting the air conditioning pipes, the contact face "A" of the flange should be against the contact face "B" of the air conditioning condenser, before the nut is tightened.

Check that the air conditioning ducts (5), (7) are clean upstream and downstream of the air conditioning condenser (3).

CAUTION : Fit new seals lubricated with air conditioning compressor oil before refitting the pipes.

Couple the air conditioning ducts (5), (7) perpendicular to the air conditioning condenser (3).

Refit :

• The nuts (2), (4)
• The bolt (6)

Couple the hybrid drive train cooling circuit pipe ‎(1)(at "a").

Carry out a vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 15 minutes minimum).

Check the sealing of the air conditioning circuit.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Carry out :

• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 35 minutes minimum)
• Filling of the air conditioning circuit

6. Additional operations

Refit :

• The resonator
• The controlled air inlet module
• The air deflectors
• The front bumper upper frame
• The headlamps
• The front bumper
• The front mud guards
• The front wheels
• The under-engine protector

Fill the air conditioning system ; Using the filling and recycling station.

Return the vehicle to its wheels.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).
