Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Refrigerant ducts

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

(*) Use standard workshop equipment if the special tool is not available

3. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

Remove :

• The front wheels
• The front mud guards
• The under-engine protector
• The deflector under the front bumper
• The front bumper
• The headlamps
• The upper trim
• The air deflectors
• The controlled air inlet module
• The air filter housing

4. Removing

CAUTION : Quickly plug the air conditioning pipes (1), (2) and the air conditioning compressor to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

Remove the nuts (3).

CAUTION : Uncouple the air conditioning pipes (1), (2) perpendicular to the air conditioning compressor.

Uncouple :

• The high pressure air conditioning duct (2) of the electric air conditioning compressor
• The lower pressure air conditioning duct (1) of the air conditioning pipes ducts assembly

CAUTION : Quickly plug all the pipes and the condenser to prevent the introduction of humidity ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

CAUTION : Uncouple the air conditioning pipe (2) perpendicular to the air conditioning condenser .

Remove :

• The bolt (5)
• The nuts (4), (7)

Detach the bracket (6).

Uncouple :

• The high pressure air conditioning pipe (2)
• The lower pressure air conditioning duct (1) of the air conditioning pipes ducts assembly

CAUTION : Quickly plug all the pipes and the condenser to prevent the introduction of humidity ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

CAUTION : Uncouple the air conditioning pipe (8) perpendicular to the air conditioning condenser .

Remove the nut (10).

Uncouple the air conditioning pipes assembly (8).

Remove the nut (9) from the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger air conditioning ducts (8).

Uncouple the air conditioning ducts (8) perpendicular to the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger .

Remove the air conditioning ducts (8) O-ring seals .

Disconnect :

• The air conditioning pressure switch connector ‎ (at "b")
• The connector (at "a")

Remove the nuts (12).

CAUTION : Plug all of the pipes and the pressure relief valve quickly to prevent the entry of humidity ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

Uncouple the air conditioning pipes assembly (8) perpendicular to the air conditioning pressure relief valve .

Move aside the air conditioning pipes assembly (8).

Remove :

• Nut (11)
• The air conditioning pipes assembly (8)

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Check that the air conditioning pipes (1), (2), (8) are clean upstream and downstream of the air conditioning circuit components.

CAUTION : Fit new O-rings lubricated with air conditioning compressor oil before refitting the air conditioning pipe (1), (2), (8).

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Tightening torques :

• Components of the air conditioning circuit
• Wheels

Refit (In order) :

• The air conditioning pipes assembly (8)
• Nut (11)

CAUTION : The air conditioning pipes clamp must be in contact with its interface before the nuts (12), (9) are tightened.

Couple up the air conditioning pipes assembly (8) on the air conditioning pressure relief valve .

Refit the nuts (12).

Couple the air conditioning ducts (8) perpendicular to the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger .

Refit the nut ‎(9) from the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger ‎ air conditioning ducts ‎(8).

CAUTION : The air conditioning pipes clamp must be in contact with its interface before the nuts (10), (4), (7) are tightened.

Couple on the air-conditioning condenser :

• The air conditioning pipes assembly (8)
• Nut (10)
• The high pressure air conditioning pipe (2)
• Nut (4)
• The plate (6)
• The bolt (5)

Couple the air conditioning ducts assembly ‎ low pressure air conditioning duct ‎(1).

Refit the nut (7).

CAUTION : The air conditioning pipes clamp must be in contact with its interface before the nuts (3) are tightened.

Couple on the air-conditioning compressor :

• The high pressure air conditioning duct (2) of the electric air conditioning compressor
• The lower pressure air conditioning duct (1) of the air conditioning pipes ducts assembly

Refit the nuts (3).

Reconnect :

• The air conditioning pressure switch connector ‎ (at "b")
• The connector (at "a")

Carry out a vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 15 minutes).

Check the sealing of the air conditioning circuit.

6. Additional operations

Refit :

• The air filter housing
• The controlled air inlet module
• The air deflectors
• The upper trim
• The headlamps
• The front bumper
• The deflector under the front bumper
• The front mud guards
• The front wheels
• The under-engine protector
• The vehicle to its wheels

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Carry out :

• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 35 minutes)
• Filling of the air conditioning circuit

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Check the operation of the air conditioning.
