Peugeot 308: Repair : Rear brake caliper

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Preliminary operation

CAUTION : Do not open the braking circuit.

INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Remove the rear brake caliper .

ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Remove the rear brake caliper .

3. Repair

3.1. Pillar screws : Rear brake discs (268/290 mm diameter)

Remove :

• The pillar screws (2)
• The protectors (1)

N.B. : To refit the protectors (1) ; Use soap to lubricate.

Grease the new pins (2) (sachet provided in the overhaul kit).

Refit :

• The protectors (1) (new) (at "a")
• The pillar screws (2) (new)

3.2. Bleed screw on the rear brake caliper

(5) Rear brake caliper .

Remove :

• The cap (3)
• The bleed screw (4)

Refit :

• The bleed screw (4)
• The cap (3)

4. Additional operation

INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Refit the rear brake caliper (5) .

ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Refit the rear brake caliper (5) .
