Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : seat side airbag

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness instructions .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

ESSENTIAL : Apply the pyrotechnic components safety recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : Apply the procedure to deactivate the centralised airbag and seat belt system .

CAUTION : Unlock the connectors before disconnecting them. When connecting, check the routing and clipping of the electrical harnesses.

CAUTION : Disconnect the connectors without stressing either the harnesses or the connectors (No pulling on the harnesses is permitted).

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

N.B. : Wait 10 minutes in the case of abnormal operation of the airbag warning lamp.

Detach the covered backrest cushion (Rear section) .

3. Removing

ESSENTIAL : Apply the procedure for destruction of the pyrotechnic components .

4. Refitting

ESSENTIAL : When refitting the airbag, connect the earth connector first.

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal.

5. Additional operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

6. Check

ESSENTIAL : Apply the procedure to deactivate the centralised airbag and seat belt system .

Switch on the ignition(engine not running).

Check the operation of the airbag warning lamp on the instrument panel.

N.B. : The warning lamp comes on for 6 to 8 seconds, then goes off.

If the warning lamp does not switch off, read the fault codes.

Check the operation of the various equipment.
