Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Pedal bracket (Left-hand drive )

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

2. Tooling

Tool	Reference	Description
	[0818 - Z]	Tool for unclipping the connection between the pedal bracket ball joint / Brake servo unit (Improvement of the tool [0818] : Addition of a handle)

3. Preliminary operation

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

Disconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

4. Removing

Remove the trim (1).

Unclip (at "b").

Disconnect the connector of the lamp (at "a") (depending on equipment).

Remove the trim (2) under the dashboard (depending on equipment).

Remove the trim (3) (depending on equipment).

Unclip (at "c").

Remove the air duct (4) (depending on equipment).

Disconnect the connector (at "d").

Remove :

• The nuts (6)
• The accelerator pedal (5)

CAUTION : Remove the brake lamp switch (7) before carrying out any pedal bracket removal operations.

CAUTION : Check that the brake pedal is in the rest position throughout the brake lamp switch (7) removal operation.

Disconnect the connector (at "f").

Unclip the electrical harness (at "e").

Remove the brake lamp switch (7) .

4.1. Unclipping the ball joint connection from the braking system

CAUTION : Do not damage the bellows of the brake servo.

Move aside the tabs (at "g") ; Using the tool [0818-Z] (from below).

Hold tool [0818-Z] in place, pull gently on the brake pedal and disconnect the rod of the brake servo from the brake pedal.

4.2. Removing the pedal bracket (Brake pedal)

Remove the nuts (8).

Remove the pedal bracket (9) (Brake pedal).

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

5.1. Refitting the complete pedal bracket (Brake pedal)

Refit :

• The pedal bracket (9) (Brake pedal)
• The 4 new nuts (8)

5.2. Clipping the ball joint connection of the braking system

CAUTION : Position the brake servo rod in the clipping system of the brake pedal.

Couple the brake servo rod to the brake pedal by depressing the brake pedal.

CAUTION : Check that the brake pedal is locked on the rod of the brake servo (Gently pull and push on the pedal).

6. Operation on the brake pedal only

6.1. Removing the brake pedal

CAUTION : Remove the brake lamp switch (7) (Before performing any operation).

CAUTION : Check that the brake pedal is in the rest position throughout the brake lamp switch (7) removal operation.

Disconnect the connector (at "b").

Remove the brake lamp switch (7) .

Disconnect the brake servo connection from the brake pedal.

Remove :

• Nut (11)
• The shaft (10) of the brake pedal
• The brake pedal

6.2. Refitting the brake pedal

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Check that the white shouldered rings (12) are present and correct.

Refit :

• The brake pedal
• The shaft (10) of the brake pedal (new)
• Nut (11) (new)

Check that the brake servo rod is correctly positioned in the brake pedal fixing shaft.

Reconnect the connection between the brake servo at the brake pedal.

CAUTION : Check that the brake pedal is locked on the rod of the brake servo (Gently pull and push on the pedal).

CAUTION : Check that the brake pedal is in the rest position throughout the brake lamp switch (7) refitting operation.

Refit the brake lamp switch (7) .

Reconnect the connector (at "f").

7. Operation on the accelerator pedal only

7.1. Removing the accelerator pedal only

Disconnect the connector (at "d").

Remove :

• The nuts (6)
• The accelerator pedal (5)

7.2. Refitting the accelerator pedal only

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

N.B. : If replacing a complete pedal bracket, do not perform this operation.

Refit :

• The accelerator pedal (5)
• The nuts (6) (new)

Reconnect the connector (at "d").

8. Additional operations

8.1. Common operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

Reconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

8.2. Check

Check the operation of the various equipment.
