Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Torque converter and its seal

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

3.1. converter

Remove the gearbox.

Fit the tools [0338-B].

CAUTION : The converter contains a large quantity of fluid.

Pull and remove the converter (1) (In the direction of the arrow).

3.2. Converter lip seal

Extract the seal 2 ; Using the tool [0336-P].

4. Refitting

4.1. Converter lip seal

Clean the seal housing.

Refit a new seal ; Using the tool [0338-F / DT-52515].

4.2. converter

Visually check :

• Converter centring tool (crankshaft and converter side)
• The seating of the seal on the converter
• The 3 fixing points
• The oil pump shaft, turbine and converter splines

N.B. : Do not add any fluid other than the recommended oil. Before fitting a new torque converter, fill it partially with oil.

Oil the interior seating of the converter seal.

Gradually engage the converter (1) using tools [0338-B] by using a slight alternating rotational movement to assist engagement in the grooves.

Check that the converter (1) has been correctly fitted ; Using the tool [0336-Y / DT-52514].

Refit the gearbox.
