Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Fan assembly

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required before disconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Disconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

Drain the electric drive train cooling circuit .

Remove :

• The protectors under the body
• The front bumper
• The deflector under the front bumper
• The headlamps

2. Removing

Unclip :

• The electrical harness (at "b")
• The cooling fan assembly control relay(at "a")

Disconnect cooling fan connector (at "d").

Unclip the electrical harness (at "c").

Unclip the electrical harness (at "e").

Remove :

• The bolt (1)
• The plate (2)

Remove :

• The bolts (4),(5)
• The upper trim (3)

Unclip the degas pipe (6)  (at "f").

Remove :

• The bolts (8),(9),(10)
• The upper crossmember (7)

Remove :

• The bolt (11)
• The plate (12)

Unclip :

• The degas pipe (6)  (at "g","h")
• The electric drive train cooling circuit pipe ‎ (13)

CAUTION : Do not damage the air conditioning condenser fins.

Remove the bolts (14),(16).

Lift the cooling fan assembly ‎ (15) to release the fixing tabs from their housing  (at "j").

Remove the cooling fan assembly ‎ (15) from above the vehicle.

3. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Tightening torques :

• Components of the air conditioning circuit
• Electric drive chain cooling circuit

CAUTION : Do not damage the air conditioning condenser fins.

Refit the cooling fan (15).

Reintroduce the fixing tabs of the cooling fan (15) into their housings  (at "j").

Refit the bolts (14),(16).

Reclip :

• The electric drive train cooling circuit pipe ‎ (13)
• The degas pipe (6)  (at "g","h")

Refit :

• The plate (12)
• The bolt (11)
• The upper crossmember (7)
• The bolts (8),(9),(10)

Reclip the degas pipe (6)  (at "f").

Refit :

• The upper trim (3)
• The bolts (4),(5)
• The plate (2)
• The bolt (1)

Clip the electrical harness (at "e").

Reconnect connector of the cooling fan unit(at "d").

Clip :

• The electrical harness (at "c")
• The electrical harness (at "b")
• The cooling fan assembly control relay(at "a")

4. Additional operations

Refit :

• The headlamps
• The deflector under the front bumper
• The front bumper
• The protectors under the body

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries batteries .

Reconnect the ancillaries batteries (Following the specific procedure ).

Degas the electric drive train cooling circuit .

Return the vehicle to its wheels.
