Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Coolant pump drive belt

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

3. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Remove :

• The ancillary drive belt
• The ancillary drive belt dynamic tensioner roller

4. Removing

Cut the coolant pump drive belt (1) ; Using cutting pliers.

5. Refitting

Fit the new coolant pump drive belt (1) on the accessories drive pulley (2).

Position the tool [0109-1B / EN-52112-2] (at "c").

Engage the new coolant pump drive belt (1) on the positioning lug of the tool [0109-1B / EN-52112-2] (at "a").

CAUTION : The crankshaft is rotated in the direction of the arrow "b".

Give the coolant pump pulley a half-turn, using the crankshaft bolt.

CAUTION : Check that the coolant pump drive belt (1) is positioned correctly (at "d").

Guide the new coolant pump drive belt (1) by applying pressure (at "e").

Turn the crankshaft clockwise using the pulley bolt .

CAUTION : Check that the coolant pump drive belt (1) is positioned correctly in the Vs of the coolant pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley .

Remove the tool [0109-1B / EN-52112-2].

Turn the crankshaft clockwise through 2 revolutions.

If the new coolant pump drive belt (1) is incorrectly fitted, it must be replaced and the procedure must be restarted.

6. Additional operations

Refit :

• The ancillary drive belt dynamic tensioner roller
• The ancillary drive belt

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Return the vehicle to its wheels.
