Peugeot 308: Check : Ancillary drive belt

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles  (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Check of the ancillary drive belt

1.1. Removing

CAUTION : Mark the direction of rotation of the ancillary drive belt if it is to be reused.

Remove the ancillary drive belt .

1.2. Checks

Make the following checks :

• Check that there are no points of resistance, noises or traces of grease on the dynamic roller tensioner and the ancillary pulleys
• Check that there is no oil on the ancillary drive belt
• Gently bend the ancillary drive belt and check that there are no cracks or splits on the back and in the grooves of the ancillary drive belt

Replace any defective parts.

2. Refitting

Refit the ancillary drive belt .

CAUTION : Check that the ancillary drive belt is positioned correctly on the dynamic roller tensioner and in the grooves of the pulleys.

Turn the engine through 4 revolutions and check the alignment of the accessory drive belt.
