Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : 48 V starter

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Insulation bag.

2. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift .

ESSENTIAL : Switch the vehicle’s power off .

Remove :

• The style cover
• The front right-hand wheel
• The front right mud-shield
• The under-engine protector

Move aside the air conditioning compressor (Without opening the cooling circuit ).

Remove the dynamic tensioner roller .

3. Removing

Slacken the clips (1).

Release :

• The air inlet union (2)
• The air outlet union (3)

Slacken the clip (4)(depending on equipment).

Move aside the air outlet union (3)(depending on equipment).

Remove :

• The bolts (5)
• The air inlet union (2) (In the direction of the arrow )
• The air outlet union (3) (In the direction of the arrow )

Slacken the 2 unions (7).

Move aside the pressure take-off pipes (8) and (9).

Disconnect the connector (at "a").

Remove :

• Nut (6)
• The particle filter differential pressure sensor (10)

Remove :

• The plugs (11)
• The 2 nuts (13)

Detach the electrical power harnesses (12), (14).

ESSENTIAL : Place the electrical power circuit connector in an insulating bag(at "b").

Disconnect the 48 V starter connector(at "c").

N.B. : To detach the centring rings from the 48 V starter (16), tap the head of the bolts ; Using a hammer.

Unscrew the bolt (17) several turns.

Remove :

• The bolt (15)
• The 48 V starter (16) (From below )

4. Refitting

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Tightening torques :

• Components of the hybrid drive train
• Engine
• Wheels

CAUTION : Check for the presence of the centring rings.

Refit :

• The 48 V starter (16)
• The bolts (15), (17)

Remove the insulating bag ‎(at "b").

Refit :

• The power harnesses (12), (14)
• The 2 nuts (13)
• The plugs (11)

Reconnect the connector on the starter 48 V (16)(at "c").

Refit :

• The particle filter differential pressure sensor (10)
• Nut (6)

Reconnect the connector (at "a").

Connect the pressure take-off pipes (8), (9).

Tighten the unions (7).

Refit :

• The air inlet union (2)
• The air outlet union (3)
• The bolts (5)

Tighten the clips (1), (4).

5. Additional operations

Refit :

• The dynamic tensioner roller
• The air conditioning compressor
• The style cover
• The under-engine protector
• The front right mud-shield
• The front right-hand wheel
• The vehicle to its wheels

ESSENTIAL : Switch the vehicle’s power on .
