Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Oil separator

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Parts which must always be replaced

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Diagnostic tool.

Tool	Reference	Description
	[0189-Q] (*)	sealing plugs
(*) Use standard workshop equipment if the special tool is not available

N.B. : Use the products recommended by the manufacturer .

3. Depressurisation of the low pressure fuel circuit

N.B. : A method can be found in the "Actuator tests engine off" menu ; Start the "Fuel supply circuit discharge" test.

4. Preliminary operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (according to equipment).

Remove the air filter housing .

5. Removing

N.B. : When disconnecting the fuel supply pipe (2), use a cloth to protect yourself from any fuel splashes.

CAUTION : Block the apertures of the high pressure fuel pump ; Using the tool [0189-Q].

Disconnect the connector (In "a").

Uncouple and plug the fuel supply pipe (2).

Uncouple the oil vapours recirculation pipe (1).

Uncouple the fuel vapours recirculation pipe (3) (At "b" and "c") (depending on equipment).

Slacken the clip (5).

Remove :

• The bolts (6)
• The union (4) of the turbocharger air outlet

Remove the protector (7) (depending on equipment).

Disconnect the connectors (In "f").

Unclip the electrical harness  (At "d" and "e").

Uncouple the oil vapours recirculation pipe (9).

Remove :

• The 13 bolts (8)
• The oil trap (10)

Remove the seal (12).

Check the presence of the 13 metallic inserts (11).

6. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Fit the new seal (12).

Check the presence of the 13 metallic inserts (11).

Refit :

• The oil trap (10)
• The 13 bolts (8)

Couple the oil vapours recirculation pipe (9).

Clip the electrical harness  (At "d" and "e").

Reconnect the connectors  (In "f").

Refit :

• The protector (7) (depending on equipment)
• The union (4) of the turbocharger air outlet
• The bolts (6)

Couple the fuel vapours recirculation pipe (3) (At "b" and "c") (depending on equipment).

Tighten the clip (5).

Couple up :

• The oil vapours recirculation pipe ‎(1)
• The fuel supply pipe (2)

Reconnect the connector  (In "a") .

7. Additional operations

Refit the air filter housing .

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (according to equipment).
