Peugeot 308: Identification : Splash-on damping product - Damping pads
1. Presentation
This vehicle has the following damping products for reducing and limiting the vibrations felt :
- Splash-on damping product
- Triple-function splash-on damping product
The splash-on damping products replace the bituminous damping pads or the fusible laminate sound-deadening (IFF) pads.
1.1. Splash-on damping product
This product provides the following functions :
- Sealing (air and water)
- Sound (vibration damping) when very thick
1.2. Triple-function splash-on damping product
This product provides the following functions :
- Underseal
- Sealing (air and water)
- Sound (vibration damping) when very thick
N.B. : The triple-function product is applied in the factory by spraying.
2. Replacement
2.1. Splash-on damping product
The replacement of a component coated with a splash-on damping product requires the application of one of the following products (Products recommended by the manufacturer).
Splash-on damping product.
Bituminous damping pads (To be cut to shape by the repairer).

2.2. Triple-function splash-on damping product (depending on equipment)
When replacing a structural component coated with a triple-function splash-on damping product, carry out the following operations on the component :
- Fitting of a damping pad on the inside of the vehicle
- Application of an underseal product on the outside of the vehicle
N.B. : The mist from the underseal product is accepted beyond the specified zones, except the zones without underseal and the styling limits.

2.3. Damping pad (depending on equipment)
The replacement of a component that is coated with a damping product requires the fitting of a bituminous damping pad (to be cut by the repairer).
