Peugeot 308: Presentation : Painting repair time schedule

1. General

The paint operations are divided into 4 classes.

CLASS 0 :

• Concerns new bodies and new detachable components completely removed and painted on a support (interior and exterior)
• Comprises priming on 2 faces, sanding, spraying of paint on 2 faces, spraying of lacquer (for two-coat paint) in the paint booth, cleaning the work station, removing the painted item

CLASS 1 :

• Concerns repaired components for which the repair of the base amounts to over 20% of the surface of the component and the components welded on the vehicle
• Comprises the application of an etch primer on the areas stripped bare, priming on 2 faces, the application if necessary of mastics, sanding, spraying of paint on 2 faces, spraying of lacquer (for two-coat paint) in the paint booth ; The masking and unmasking, cleaning of the work station, removing the vehicle

CLASS 2 :

• Concerns repaired components for which the repair of the base amounts to less than 20% of the component’s surface
• Comprises the application of an etch primer on the areas stripped bare, priming on 2 faces of the repaired surface, the application if necessary of mastics, sanding, spraying of paint on the repaired interior surface and on the external surface ; The spraying of lacquer (for two-coat paint) in the paint booth, the masking and unmasking, cleaning of the work station, removing the vehicle

CLASS 3 :

• Concerns components for which it is not necessary to repair the base
• Comprises sanding of the surface to be painted, spraying on of paint and lacquer (for two-coat paint), masking and unmasking, cleaning of the work station, removing the vehicle

N.B. : The anti-chip treatment is not included in these different classes, nor is the removal/refitting time required for any accessories.

2. Fixed painting time

A fixed time allocation is added to the paint operations figuring in the repair times, whatever the number of painting components.

This fixed time comprises: preparation of the colour, producing one or several plates to correct this, cleaning the instruments and spray guns, replacing the products where they are stored.

N.B. : When painting parts which have a surface area of less than 5 dm2, the painting fixed price only will be used for invoicing to the exclusion of any other time.

3. Invoicing of painting work

3.1. Invoicing of a component

Note the time for the operation corresponding to the paint class used then add to this time the fixed painting time corresponding to the type of paint to be applied.

Example :

• Paint class 2 : Bonnet 3,20
• Fixed painting time : 1,00
• Total = 4,20

3.2. Invoicing of grouped paint operations

For invoicing grouped paint operations, whether of the same kind or of different kinds, proceed as follows.

3.3. Invoicing of 2 linked components

Note the time of the operation corresponding to the paint class used for each component, then deduct 15% from the total.

Add to this time the fixed painting time corresponding to the type of paint to be applied.

Example :

• Paint class 2 : Bonnet 3,20
• Paint class 1 : Front right wing2,50
• Sub-total 5,70 (-15%) = 4,80
• Fixed painting time : 1,00
• Total = 5,80

If, during this painting work, painting of a component not juxtaposed to the two previous components is carried out, add the time corresponding to the class used without any deduction.

Example :

• Paint class 2 : Bonnet 3,20
• Paint class 1 : Front right wing2,50
• Sub-total 5,70 (-15%) = 4,80
• Paint class 3 : Rear left wing 2,50
• Fixed painting time : 1,00
• Total = 8,30

3.4. Invoicing of 3 linked components

Same procedure as previously, but the deduction is 20 %.

Example :

• Paint class 2 : Bonnet 3,20
• Paint class 1 : Front right wing2,50
• Paint class 3 : Front left wing1,70
• Sub-total 7,40 (-20%) = 6,00
• Fixed painting time : 1,00
• Total = 7,00

3.5. Invoicing of 4 linked components

Same procedure as previously, but the deduction is 25 %.

Example :

• Paint class 3 : Tailgate 1,40
• Paint class 1 : Rear panel 2,80
• Paint class 2 : Rear right wing3,70
• Paint class 1 : Rear left wing 2,90
• Sub-total 10,80 (-25%) = 8,10
• Fixed painting time : 1,00
• Total = 9,10

3.6. Invoicing several components painted on the base coat

In this instance, the deduction for adjacent parts is not applicable.

Example :

• Paint class 0 : Front wing0,60
• Paint class 0 : Front door1,30
• Paint class 0 : Rear door1,20
• Sub-total = 3,10
• Fixed painting time : 0,70
• Total = 3,80

N.B. : The addition of an anti-chip operation to a paint operation does not increase the number of components liable for a reduction, when calculating the invoicing time.

Example: Paint class 2 : Outer right side member + Anti-chip treatment = 1 Element.

CAUTION : The painting consumables are invoiced by multiplying the painting consumables rate by the time invoiced.
