Peugeot 308: Tightening torques : Wheels
1. recommendations
ESSENTIAL : Before installing the wheels, remove any built-up corrosion from the wheel fitting surface and from the fitting surface of the brake drum and disc. Installing the wheels with incorrect contact between the metal sections at the fitting surfaces can lead to loosening of the wheel bolts.
CAUTION : The use of impact wrenches to refit the wheel bolts and wheel anti-theft bolts is strictly prohibited.
CAUTION : The wheels are always tightened with dry bolts.
CAUTION : When installing a new steel wheel for the first time : Always double tighten the wheel, to avoid any risk of slackening.
N.B. : Double tightening consists of tightening to torque followed by slackening then retightening to the specified torque.
Check the positioning of the anti-theft socket on refitting.
CAUTION : Tighten the wheel bolts using a torque wrench.

3. Wheel valve
CAUTION : For the 208 GTI (30th) vehicle, the tightening torque of the wheel valve nuts is 0,4 daNm.
CAUTION : For the 308 GTI (T9) vehicle, the tightening torque of the wheel valve nuts is 0,4 daNm.
3.1. Vehicles not equipped with tyre under-inflation detection system
Always replace the wheel valves when changing the tyres.
3.2. Vehicles fitted with a tyre under-inflation detection system
Observe the wheel valve nut tightening torque : Tighten to 0,8 daNm.
