Peugeot 308: Draining - filling : Engine

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Suction draining

No petrol or diesel engines may be suction drained except those listed in the table below.

Drain the oil sump by gravity. Testing has shown that suction drainage is inefficient, in particular because the position of the aperture of the suction pipe cannot be controlled inside the oil sump.

CAUTION : It is not possible to carry out this type of draining on engines which are not designed for it ; In some cases, because of the shape of the bottom of the sump, the amount of oil remaining is too great (approx. 1 litre).
