Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Front suspension arm

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Parts which must always be replaced

Bolt-nut assembly (Front suspension arm)	2 (Per side)
Hub carrier lower ball joint nut	1 (Per side)

2. Tooling

	[0622]	Hub carrier ball joint uncoupling lever

3. Preliminary operations

Put the vehicle on a lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Remove the front wheels.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Remove :

• The under-engine protector
• The front mud guards
• The front bumper deflector
• The front bumper lower frame

4. Removing

CAUTION : Keep the driveshaft lodged in the gearbox.

CAUTION : Risk of damage to the front body height sensor.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Remove the front body height sensor .

ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Remove the front body height sensor .

Remove the nut (1).

Uncouple the hub carrier lower ball-joint ; Using the tool [0622].

Remove (repair side) :

• The 3 bolts (2)
• Nut (4)
• The front subframe extension (3)

Release the front subframe extension (3) rubber support (5) by one quarter of a turn.

Remove the front subframe extension (3) rubber support (5).

Remove :

• The bolt-nut assemblies (6), (8)
• The front suspension arm (7)

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Tightening torque :

• Front suspension
• Wheels

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Tightening torque :

• Front suspension
• Wheels

Refit :

• The front suspension arm (7)
• The new bolt-nut assemblies (6), (8) (without tightening)

Couple the lower ball joint to the pivot ; Using the tool [0622].

Fit the new nut (1) (without tightening).

Tighten :

• The bolt-nut assemblies (6), (8)
• Nut (1)

N.B. : The right-hand and left-hand front subframe extension (3) rubber supports (5) are different : They are identified by a marking "D" (right) and "G" (left).

CAUTION : Check the clipping of the front subframe extension (3) on the front subframe extension rubber support (5).

Refit (repair side) :

• The front subframe extension (3) rubber support (5)
• The front subframe extension (3)
• The 3 bolts (2)
• Nut (4)

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Refit the front body height sensor .

ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Refit the front body height sensor .

6. Additional operations

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

Refit :

• The front bumper lower frame
• The front bumper deflector
• The front mud guards
• The under-engine protector

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Refit :

• The front wheels
• The vehicle to its wheels
