3. Removing
MHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN OR INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN
Remove the front spring-shock absorber assembly .
CAUTION : Do not put a suspension spring in direct contact with any metallic object or tool.
Place the front spring - shock absorber assembly in a vice.
CAUTION : Check the presence and condition of the rubber protections on the fixed and sliding jaws of the spring compressor.
Slacken the nut (1).
Position the spring compressor [0920-A] fitted with its cups [0920-M13].
Compress the spring ; Using the spring compressor 0920-A] and cups 0920-M13].
CAUTION : Check that there is no stress on the suspension spring (8) before removing the nut (1).
CAUTION : Do not use a pneumatic gun for the operations of removing and refitting the front shock absorber nut (1).
Remove :
Decompress the suspension spring (8) ; Using the spring compressor [0920-A] and cups [0920-M13].
4. Refitting
MHEV DRIVE TRAIN OR ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN OR INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN OR PHEV DRIVE TRAIN
CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .
CAUTION : Check the condition of the suspension springs (absence of signs of impacts, scratches or corrosion holes) ; The paint coating on the suspension springs must not be damaged, leaving the metal bare.
Grease the bump stop thrust collar when refitting (at "a") ; Using grease index "G1" .
Refit the lower cup (7) fully (at "b").
Compress the suspension spring (8) ; Using the spring compressor [0920-A] and cups [0920-M13].
CAUTION : Orient the colour markings on the suspension spring (8) downwards.
CAUTION : Correctly position the suspension spring (8) fully on the lower cup (7).
Refit the bump stop (3) in the thrust cup (4) (From the inside).
Refit the damper upper support (2) on the thrust cup (4) ; Align the positioning lugs(at "c").
Refit the gaiter (6) on the thrust cup (4) ; Check that the coverage is correct over the entire periphery.
Refit the upper cup (5) on top of the gaiter (6).
Refit :
Check the alignment of the marks ("e", "f").
Tighten the nut (1).
Decompress the suspension spring (8) ; Using the spring compressor [0920-A] and cups [0920-M13].
Remove the tools [0920-A], [0920-M13].
