Peugeot 308: Draining - filling : Reduction gear

ESSENTIAL : Ensure that the precautions relating to safety and cleanliness are adhered to .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Facom "376" type manual oil syringe.

3. Consumables

N.B. : Use only recommended products.

gearbox oil : Index "B17" .

4. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

Remove the under-body protector (front section).

5. Draining

Remove :

• The bolts (2)
• The impacter (1)

Remove the drain cap ‎(3) with its seal ‎.

Allow oil to flow out.

Refit the drain cap ‎(3) with its new seal ‎.

6. Oil capacity

CAUTION : It is necessary to drain the reduction box and put back the exact quantity of oil if there is an external leak or following a repair.

N.B. : Visually check the sealing at each service visit.

Capacity : 1,1 litre.

7. Filling

RG1L TYPE GEARBOX

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Remove the filler cap (4).

CAUTION : Add the exact quantity of oil.

N.B. : Use only recommended products .

Fill the reduction gear via the filler cap (4) inlet ; Using a clean syringe.

Refit :

• The filler cap (4)
• The impacter (1)
• The bolts (2)

8. Additional operations

Refit :

• The under-body protection (front section)
• The vehicle on the ground
