Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Air conditioning ducts

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

Tool	Reference	Description

(*) Use standard workshop equipment if the special too is not available

3. Preliminary operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

Disconnect the ancillaries battery.

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

Remove :

• The air filter housing (if necessary)
• The engine rear acoustic shield (depending on equipment)
• The under-engine protector (if necessary)
• The front bumper
• The front bumper upper frame (if necessary)
• The front bumper central frame (if necessary)
• The controlled air inlet module (depending on equipment)

Move aside the expansion chamber .

4. Removing

Remove the nuts (1).

CAUTION : Plug all of the pipes and the compressor quickly to prevent the entry of humidity ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

CAUTION : Uncouple the air conditioning pipes (2), (3) from the air conditioning compressor.

Uncouple :

• The high pressure air conditioning duct (3) of the electric air conditioning compressor
• The lower pressure air conditioning duct (2) of the air conditioning pipes ducts assembly

Remove :

• The air deflector (5) (depending on equipment)
• The bolt (7)
• The nuts (4)

CAUTION : Quickly plug all the pipes and the condenser to prevent the introduction of humidity ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

CAUTION : Uncouple the air conditioning pipes (3) and (6) perpendicular to the air conditioning condenser.

Uncouple :

• The high pressure air conditioning duct (3) of the electric air conditioning compressor
• The air conditioning pipes assembly (6)

Unclip the electrical harness (at "a").

Disconnect the connector of the air conditioning pressostat (at "b").

Remove the nut (9).

Uncouple the air conditioning pipes assembly/compressor low pressure air conditioning pipe (2) (at "c").

Remove :

• Nut (8)
• The lower pressure air conditioning duct (2) of the air conditioning pipes ducts assembly

Remove the nuts (10).

CAUTION : Plug all of the pipes and the pressure relief valve quickly to prevent the entry of humidity ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

Uncouple the air conditioning pipes assembly (6) perpendicular to the air conditioning pressure relief valve .

Move aside the air conditioning pipes assembly (6).

Remove :

• Nut (11)
• The air conditioning pipes assembly (6)

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Check that the air conditioning pipes (2), (3), (6) are clean upstream and downstream of the air conditioning circuit components.

CAUTION : Position new O-ring seals lubricated with air conditioning compressor oil before refitting the air conditioning pipes (2), (3), (6).

INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN AND AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Refit (In order) :

• The air conditioning pipes assembly (6)
• Nut (11)
• The lower pressure air conditioning duct (2) of the air conditioning pipes ducts assembly
• The high pressure air conditioning duct (3) of the electric air conditioning compressor

CAUTION : The aircon ducts clamp must be in contact with its interface before the nuts (1) are tightened.

Couple on the air-conditioning compressor :

• The high pressure air conditioning duct (3) of the electric air conditioning compressor
• The lower pressure air conditioning duct (2) of the air conditioning pipes ducts assembly

Refit the nuts (1).

CAUTION : The aircon ducts clamp must be in contact with its interface before the nuts (4) are tightened.

Couple on the air-conditioning condenser :

• The air conditioning pipes assembly (6)
• The high pressure air conditioning duct (3) of the electric air conditioning compressor

Refit :

• The nuts (4)
• The bolt (7)
• The air deflector (5) (depending on equipment)

CAUTION : The aircon ducts clamp must be in contact with its interface before the nuts (10) are tightened.

Couple up the air conditioning pipes assembly (6) on the air conditioning pressure relief valve .

Refit the nuts (10).

CAUTION : The clamp of the air-conditioning pipes must be against its interface before tightening the nut (9).

Couple up the air conditioning pipes assembly/compressor low pressure air conditioning pipe (2) (at "c").

Refit the nuts (8) and (9).

Reconnect the connector of the air conditioning pressostat (at "b").

Clip the electrical harness (at "a").

Carry out a vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 15 minutes).

Check the sealing of the air conditioning circuit.

6. Additional operations

Refit :

• The expansion bottle
• The engine rear acoustic shield (depending on equipment)
• The air filter housing
• The under-engine protector (If necessary)
• The controlled air inlet module (depending on equipment)
• The front bumper central frame (if necessary)
• The front bumper upper frame (if necessary)
• The front bumper

Carry out a vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (for a maximum of 35 minutes).

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN

Fill the air conditioning circuit .

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

Reconnect the ancillaries battery.

Check the operation of the air conditioning.
