Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Air conditioning pressure relief valve

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

2.1. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Filling and recycling station .

(*) Use standard workshop equipment if the special tool is not available

2.2. Tools to be made

	[1]	Guide pegs = 2 threaded rods - Diameter "A" = 5 mm (M5) - "B" length = 60 mm

3. Preliminary operations

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (According to equipment).

Remove :

• The air filter housing (According to equipment)
• The engine rear acoustic shield (According to equipment)

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the filling and recycling station.

4. Removing

Remove the nuts (1).

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tool [1701-HZ].

Uncouple the aircon ducts (2) perpendicular to the air conditioning pressure relief valve without distorting them.

Remove the air conditioning ducts (2) O-ring seals .

Remove the bolt (3) from the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

CAUTION : The guide pegs [1] are for holding the brace (6) of the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4) in position.

Fit the guide peg [1] on the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

Remove the bolt (7) from the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

Fit the guide peg [1] on the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

Remove :

• The aircon pressure reducer (4) with the sealing rubber
• The O-rings (5)

CAUTION : Do not remove the guide pegs [1].

CAUTION : Quickly plug all the air conditioning ducts to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tools [1701-HZ].

Separate the clips on the retaining plate (At "a" and "b").

Remove the sealing rubber (8) from the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

5. Refitting

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING AND PHEV DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

INTERNAL COMBUSTION DRIVE TRAIN AND AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

ELECTRIC DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

Check that the pipes upstream and downstream of the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4) are clean.

Refit :

• The new O-rings (5) ; Lubricate the new seals with compressor oil
• The sealing rubber (8) on the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4)
• The aircon pressure reducer (4) with the sealing rubber (8)

Remove the guide peg [1] from the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

Refit the bolt (3).

Remove the guide peg [1] from the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

Refit the bolt (7).

Tighten the bolts (3) and (7).

CAUTION : The clamp of the air conditioning ducts must be against its interface prior to tightening of the nuts (1) (In "c").

Refit new O-ring seals on the air conditioning ducts (2) ; Lubricate the new seals with compressor oil.

Couple the air conditioning ducts (2) perpendicular to the air conditioning pressure relief valve (4).

Refit the nuts (1).

Tighten the nuts (1).

6. Additional operations

Carry out a vacuum extraction for a minimum of 15 minutes ; Using the filling and recycling station.

Check the sealing of the air conditioning circuit.

Refit :

• The engine rear acoustic shield (According to equipment)
• The air filter housing (According to equipment)

Carry out a vacuum extraction for a minimum of 35 minutes.

Fill the air conditioning circuit .

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (According to equipment).

7. Check

Check the operation of the air conditioning.
