Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : sealing plugs.

3. Preliminary operations

Put the vehicle on a lift.

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Drain :

• Hybrid drive train cooling circuit
• The air conditioning circuit ; Using the filling and recycling station

Remove the cover .

4. Removing

Slacken the clip (1).

Move aside the air outlet union (2) (In the direction of the arrow ).

Detach and move aside :

• The coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger pipe (3)
• The coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger pipe (4)

Remove the nut (5) from the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger air conditioning ducts (6).

Uncouple the air conditioning ducts (6) perpendicular to the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger .

Remove the air conditioning ducts (6) O-ring seals .

CAUTION : Quickly plug all the air conditioning ducts to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using sealing plugs .

Remove the 2 bolts (8).

Move aside the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7) (In the direction of the arrow ).

Disconnect the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7) connector (at "a").

Remove the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7).

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

Tightening torques :

• Components of the air conditioning circuit
• Engine

Reconnect the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7) connector (at "a").

Refit :

• The coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7)
• The 2 bolts (8)

Remove the sealing plugs .

Check that the air conditioning ducts (6) are clean upstream and downstream of the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7).

CAUTION : Fit new seals lubricated with compressor oil before refitting the air conditioning pipes.

Couple the air conditioning ducts (6) perpendicular to the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7).

Refit the nut ‎(5) from the coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger ‎(7) air conditioning ducts ‎(6).

Couple up :

• The coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7) pipe (3)
• The coolant - air conditioning heat exchanger (7) pipe (4)
• The air outlet union (2)

Tighten the clip (1).

6. Additional operations

Refit the cover.

MHEV DRIVE TRAIN

Carry out :

• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 35 minutes minimum)
• Filling of the air conditioning circuit

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.

Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).

Fill and bleed the hybrid drive train cooling circuit .

Return the vehicle to its wheels.
