Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Electric air conditioning compressor

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : Only remove the plugs from the air conditioning ducts, clamps and unions at the moment when these are connected on the vehicle.

1. Replacement of parts in all cases

2. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

3. Preliminary operations

Put the vehicle on a lift.

ESSENTIAL : Switch the vehicle’s power off .

Drain the air conditioning circuit ; Using the air conditioning circuit filling and recycling station.

Remove :

• The front left-hand wheel
• The front left-hand mud guard
• The under-body protection

4. Removing

Unclip (at "a").

Remove the 2 nuts (2), (3).

Uncouple the air conditioning system pipes (1), (4).

CAUTION : Plug all of the ducts quickly to prevent the entry of moisture ; Using the tool [1701-HZ].

ESSENTIAL : Carry out the procedure for disconnecting the electric power circuit connectors .

Disconnect the power connector (at "b").

Remove the nut (6).

Move the earth cable (5) aside.

Disconnect the connector (at "c").

Remove :

• The 3 bolts (8)
• The electric air conditioning compressor (7)

5. Refitting

CAUTION : Never refit an electric air conditioning compressor that has suffered an impact.

CAUTION : Check that the air conditioning ducts (1), (4) upstream and downstream of the electric air conditioning compressor (7) are clean.

CAUTION : Put in place new O-ring seal ; Lubricate the new O-ring seals with electric air conditioning compressor oil.

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques.

CAUTION : In the event of replacement : Drain the new electric air conditioning compressor (7) ; Leave just 80 cc of oil.

Refit :

• The new O-rings
• The electric air conditioning compressor (7)
• The 3 bolts (8)

Reconnect the connector (at "c").

Refit :

• The earth cable (5)
• Nut (6)

Reconnect the power connector (at "b").

Couple up the air conditioning system pipes (1), (4).

Refit the 2 nuts (2), (3).

CAUTION : The clamp of the air conditioning ducts must be against its interface before tightening the nuts.

Clip (at "a").

Carry out a vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 15 minutes minimum).

Check the sealing of the air conditioning circuit.

Carry out :

• A vacuum extraction of the air conditioning circuit (For 35 minutes minimum)
• Filling of the air conditioning circuit

6. Additional operations

Refit :

• The front left-hand mud guard
• The under-body protection
• The front left-hand wheel

ESSENTIAL : Switch the vehicle’s power on .

CAUTION : After each operation on the air conditioning circuit, clean the air conditioning circuit.

To clean the air conditioning circuit ; Using the diagnostic tool :

• Connect the diagnostic tool
• Access the sub-menu : Electric drive train supervisor ECU / Repair / Service action / Cleaning of the air conditioning circuit
• Activate the air conditioning circuit cleaning procedure

Check the operation of the electric air conditioning compressor (7).
