Peugeot 308: Removing - refitting : Oil filter

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles (observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

CAUTION : The oil filter must be replaced after the engine has been drained.

1. Parts which must always be replaced

2. Preliminary operations

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

Remove the under-engine protector.

Drain the engine oil circuit .

3. Removing

CAUTION : Protect the area with absorbent paper or a clean rag.

Remove the oil filter (1).

4. Refitting

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

4.1. Preparation of the component

Lubricate the new seal (2) ; With engine oil.

CAUTION : Check the positioning of the new seal ‎(2) ; Ensure that the seal (2) is not twisted or damaged.

N.B. : Check that the seal is in the correct position by passing your finger all around the seal.

4.2. Refitting (Continued)

CAUTION : Clean any drips of oil.

Fit the new oil filter (1).

CAUTION : Check that there are no pieces of absorbent paper in the area (Risk of fire on the exhaust line).

5. Additional operations

Fill and top up the engine oil level .

Refit :

• The under-engine protector
• The vehicle to its wheels
