Peugeot 308: Precautions to be taken : Hybrid double-clutch piloted manual gearbox

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Towing

When towing vehicles equipped with a hybrid double-clutch piloted manual gearbox, transport the vehicle on a platform or tow it with the front wheels raised.

When the engine is switched off, lubrication of the hybrid double-clutch piloted manual gearbox is no longer assured and towing can destroy it.

2. Driving

N.B. : Never coast with the ignition switched off ; The hybrid double-clutch piloted manual gearbox is only lubricated when the engine is running.

Never push the vehicle in an attempt to start it  (Not possible with a hybrid double-clutch piloted manual gearbox ).

3. Repairs to the electrical components

Do not disconnect :

• The ancillaries battery when the engine is running
• The engine management ECU, ignition on

Before reconnecting a connector, check :

• The condition of the various contacts (distortion, corrosion ...)
• The presence and condition of the connector locking mechanism

During electrical checks :

• The ancillaries battery must be correctly charged up
• Never use a voltage source greater than 16 V
• Never use a test lamp

4. Repairs to the mechanical components

Never place the gearbox on the ground without suitable protection.

Do not use the unions as handles to move the gearbox.

It is essential to use the centring pins to couple the gearbox on the engine.
