Peugeot 308: Replacement : Rear quarterlight

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Tooling

Presentation :

• Glazing tools
• Glazing consumables

ESSENTIAL : Gloves and protective goggles must be worn for the following operations.

2. Removing

Pass the cutting wire [1354-E] under the rear quarter window (1).

Fit the handles [1354-D] to each end of the cutting wire .

Start cutting the bead of sealant .

Finish cutting.

Remove the rear quarterlight ; Using the hinged suction cups .

3. Cleaning

3.1. Preparing the glass

Fitting of new quarter window (1).

Degrease the edge of the glass.

Apply bonding primer .

N.B. : Only apply the primer to the zones laid bare.

3.2. Preparation of the aperture

First case : On residue sealant.

Fit the electric cutter [FEIN-400E] with blade N°146.

Level off the seal adhesive strip.

Remove any dust using a clean cloth.

Second case : New component.

Degrease the aperture.

Apply the metal primer provided in the bonding kit part number "A3" .

Leave to dry for 10 minutes.

4. Refitting

"A" = 12 mm.

"B" = 8 mm.

Cut the nozzle in a triangular section to obtain a bead of sealing adhesive "X" wide and "Z" deep.

Fitting of new quarter window (1).

Apply an adhesive sealing strip "a" on the surround of the rear tailgate grille .

CAUTION : Use of a two-component product : The time for fitting the window on the vehicle and the start of extrusion of the sealing adhesive is 5 minutes.

Refit the rear quarter light :

• Using the hinged suction cups
• Using the centring pins(at "b")

Lightly press on the periphery of the rear quarter window (1).

Clean the window and its surround.

CAUTION : Observe the vehicle immobilisation time following fitting of the glass recommended by the suppliers of the products used.

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to the removal operations.

Check the sealing of the window.
