(1) Inlet camshaft variable timing actuator.
(2) Exhaust camshaft variable timing actuator.
3. Preliminary operations
CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .
CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.
Disconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).
4. Removing
Slacken the clip (6).
Remove the bolt (5).
Unclip the clips (at "a").
Move aside the fuel supply pipes (3), (7).
Remove :
Disconnect the connectors (at "b", "d").
Unclip the electrical harness sheathing (8) (at "c") ; Using a Torx spanner with extension.
Move aside the electrical harness sheathing (8).
CAUTION : Protect the surrounding area using a cloth on removal to absorb the oil which flows out of the opening.
Remove :
Remove the seals (11).
5. Refitting
CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .
CAUTION : Clean the sealing zones of the variable timing actuators (1), (2) and check that there are no impacts or scratches.
CAUTION : Lightly lubricate the new seals (11).
CAUTION : The bolts (9), (10) are not always replaced with new bolts ; If the bolts (9), (10) are reused, clean the thread and apply thread lock product.
Refit :
Attach the electrical harness sheathing (8) (at "c") ; Using a Torx spanner with extension.
Reconnect the connectors (at "b", "d").
CAUTION : Do not clean the grease in the air inlet union of the motorised throttle housing (at "e").
Angle "A" = 45°.
CAUTION : To avoid twisting the new seal (12) of the motorised throttle housing air inlet union (4), tilt the air inlet union (In accordance with the angle "A").
Refit :
Tighten the clip (6).
Refit the fuel pipes (3), (7).
Clip the clips (at "a").
6. Additional operations
CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .
CAUTION : In the case of a vehicle with 2 batteries, carry out the specific operations for disconnecting and reconnecting the ancillaries batteries.
Reconnect the ancillaries battery or batteries (depending on equipment).
