ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

ESSENTIAL : All personnel carrying out work on a vehicle fitted with traction batteries must have received specific electric vehicle training and be authorised to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

ESSENTIAL : All personnel working on vehicles with a fuel cell stack must have completed the STELLANTIS training courses required to work on these vehicles(observe the regulations in force in the respective country).

1. Tools

Tools and equipment required to carry out the check.

Depth gauge.

2. Method of checking

Fill in the form manually as the checks are carried out.

Place the vehicle on a 2-post lift.

Raise and chock the vehicle at mid-height.

2.1. Check of the wheels

Check :

  • The puncture repair kit : Check the expiry date of the puncture repair aerosol (According to equipment )
  • The pressure of the tyres (including the spare wheel) (According to equipment )
  • The condition of the wheel rims  (interior and exterior) : No significant distortion, cracks
  • The coherence between the characteristics indicated on the After Sales/Parts label and on the tyres (Tyre size, speed and load index... )
  • The conformity of the tyres on the same axle  (front and rear) : Check that the tyres on the same axle are identical, of the same brand, size and tread
  • The condition of tyres  (interior and exterior) : General appearance (uneven wear, bulges, cuts, crazing)
  • The tyre wear : Using a depth gauge, measure the depth of the tread at 3 different points on the tread . The tyres must have a minimum tread depth of 1,6 mm around the entire circumference and over a central band consisting of three quarters of the width of the tyre . Always check the tread depth at different points . Indicate the minimum value measured on the form
  • Check the date of manufacture of the tyre (See illustrations below )
  • The presence of the valve caps

Reminder of how to read a tyre :

  • (1) Tyre model
  • (2) Factory "DOT" homologation number : The last 4 digits correspond to the date of manufacture of the tyre . Example : XXXXXXXX3505 corresponds to a tyre manufactured during week 35 of the year 2005
  • (3) Type of tyre tread
  • (4) European homologation
  • (5) Reinforced tyre
  • (6) Width of the tyre (In mm )
  • (7) Relation of overall width to tyre height
  • (8) Type of tyre tread (RADIAL )
  • (9) Rim diameter  (in inches)
  • (10) Load index
  • (11) Speed index
  • (12) Tyre symbol (Snow )
  • (13) Tubeless tyre (TUBELESS )
  • (14) Tyre brand

2.2. Check of the front suspension

Carry out the following visual checks :

  • The condition of the damper : Leak, protective gaiter
  • The condition of the flexible mountings of the lower and upper arms : Clearance, tearing of the flexible mounting
  • The condition of the hub carrier ball joints : Clearance, protective gaiter

2.3. Check of the rear suspension

Carry out the following visual checks :

  • The condition of the damper : Leak, protective gaiter
  • The condition of the mountings of the lower and upper arms : Clearance, tearing of the flexible mounting
  • The condition of the hub carrier ball joints : Clearance, protective gaiter
  • The condition of the arms and tie-rods : Check the absence of play

3. Recommendations following the check

Complete the form, indicating any comments, select the recommendations according to the results obtained.
