Peugeot 308: Adjustment : Gear control

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

N.B. : An incorrect adjustment may make it difficult to engage gears.

1. Tooling

Tool	Reference	Description
	[0355-A]	Gearbox lever positioning tool
	[0335-G]	Gearbox lever positioning tool

2. Removing

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required prior to a disconnection of the ancillaries battery .

Disconnect the ancillaries battery.

Remove :

• The centre console
• The ancillaries battery and its support

3. Adjustment

CAUTION : Place the gear control lever in position 2.

CAUTION : Immobilise the gear control lever ; Using the tool [0335-G].

Carry out the following operations in the order shown :

• Insert the tool [0335-G](at "a")
• Slide the tool [0335-G]

Carry out the following operations in the order shown :

• Push the tool [0335-G] (In the direction of the arrow )
• Secure the tool [0335-G](at "b")

Position the tool [0355-A](at "c").

The tool [0355-A] should just touch the gear control lever and not rest on it(at "d").

Uncouple the ball joints (1) from the gear selection and engagement control cables .

Push the locking keys (2)(towards the top)(in the direction of the arrows).

Remove the gear engagement and selection control cables from the gear shift control assembly.

Couple the ball joints (1) on the gear control lever .

Lock the locking clips (2).

Remove tools [0335-G] and [0355-A].

4. Refitting

Refit :

• The ancillaries battery and its support
• The centre console

CAUTION : Perform the operations that are required after reconnecting the ancillaries battery .

Reconnect the ancillaries battery.

Check that all the gears change.
