Peugeot 308: Checking - adjusting : Set of input shaft bearings

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

1. Tooling

Workshop equipment : Dial gauge .

Presentation of the equipment .

2. Preliminary operations

Refit on the clutch housing (4) :

• The assembled input shaft (1)
• The gearbox casing (2)
• The bolts (3)  (one screw out of two)

3. Checking - adjusting

Position  (on the gearbox housing) :

• The dial gauge
• The tools [0330-V1 / 5708-T.V1] / [DT-52368], [0330-V2 / 5708-T.V2], [0330-V3 / 5708-T.V3]

Position the sensor on the primary shaft ( 1).

Rotate the primary shaft a few turns.

Push the primary shaft downwards.

Set the dial gauge to zero.

Push the primary shaft upwards.

Check the value at 4 points.

CAUTION : The play should be between 0,06 and 0,15 mm.

If the value read on the dial gauge is not correct, repeat the setting .

N.B. : Adjustment shims between 0,8 and 1,4 mm with a variation of 0,05 mm.

Remove all of the parts before continuing with the operation.
