Peugeot 308: Draining - filling : MB type manual gearbox

ESSENTIAL : Observe the safety and cleanliness recommendations .

N.B. : Use only recommended products.

gearbox oil : Index "B1" .

4. Draining

Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 -post lift.

Remove :

• The under-engine protector
• The air filter housing (depending on the engine)

(1) Breather opening.

Remove the drain cap (2).

Allow oil to flow out.

Refit the drain cap (2) fitted with a new seal.

5. Oil capacity

CAUTION : It is necessary to drain the gearbox and put back the exact quantity of oil, in the event of an external leak or a repair.

N.B. : The gearbox is lubricated for life ; Visually check the sealing at each service visit.

After overhaul : 1,8 litre.

After draining : 1,7 litre.

6. Filling

CAUTION : Observe the tightening torques .

Remove :

• The ancillaries battery (depending on the engine)
• The battery tray (depending on the engine)
• The air filter housing (depending on the engine)
• The breather opening (1)

CAUTION : Add the exact quantity of oil.

N.B. : Use only recommended products .

Refill the gearbox via the breather opening (1) ; Using the tool [0344].

Refit :

• The breather opening (1)
• The air filter housing (depending on the engine)
• The battery tray (depending on the engine)
• The ancillaries battery (depending on the engine)
• The under-engine protector
• The vehicle to its wheels
